The Empowerment Effect Hockey Program offers girls ages 7–17 a supportive and inspiring space to grow — both on and off the ice. No prior hockey experience required!

We are a developmental program looking to cultivate and grow the sport of ice hockey, especially among girls who may not have had access to it before.

Participants describe the program as fun, empowering, and team-oriented, with great coaches and a positive environment where girls build confidence, make lasting friendships, and feel like they truly belong.

Program Overview

Season: October 2025 – May 2026

Practice Schedule:

• On-Ice Practices: 2 per month, each lasting 60–90 minutes, held on Sunday afternoons between 12pm and 5:30pm (final dates and times will be confirmed two months in advance)

• Dryland Practices: 1 per month, lasting 90 minutes, held on Saturday mornings

• Commitment: Participants are asked to commit for the full season and attend at least 80% of all practices.

• No Hockey Experience Needed: Open to girls ages 7–17 — all skill levels welcome!

Beyond Practice:

• Scrimmages

• Group outings to hockey games

• Career and college exploration opportunities

• Fitness, nutrition, and mental wellness sessions

• Leadership development opportunities

​​Gear Provided

A full set of youth hockey gear is provided with a refundable $75 deposit, due at the time of gear distribution. Deposits will be returned at the end of the season when all equipment is returned in good condition.
